Volunteers play a crucial role in our youth basketball academy, contributing their time, skills, and passion to empower young adults aged 14-18 both on and off the court.
Our volunteers can provide coaching assistance, by supporting coaches during training sessions and event coordination assistance in the planning and execution of basketball clinics and community out-reach events.
We’re looking for volunteers who embody dedication, empathy, and a passion for making a positive impact in the community. An ideal volunteer will also engage with young athletes as positive role model, bringing to the Academy one or more of the following qualities:
- Reliability
– Volunteers should be dependable and committed to fulfilling their responsibilities consistently.
- Flexibility
– Willingness to adapt to changing circumstances or tasks as needed.
- Empathy
– Showing understanding, compassion, and sensitivity towards the needs of others.
- Teamwork
– Working collaboratively with others towards shared goals.
- Patience
– Remaining calm and composed, especially in challenging or stressful situations.
- Passion
– Genuine enthusiasm and dedication towards the cause of THI and that of the Academy.
Recommended Time Commitment for Volunteers:
Volunteers in the Academy are encouraged to dedicate a minimum of 2 hours per day for at least one week. Visits to our Athens campus can be scheduled throughout July, on weekdays, between 09:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to participate in the program prepa-ration stage prior to the start of the Academy.
Thank you for considering becoming a volunteer for THI’s Summer Youth Academy.
